The client for this brief is a local artist who required a purpose-built studio to work from. They asked for plenty of natural light and they wanted the studio to replicate some of the aspects of their home.

Access to the garden for this project was challenging, so we suggested Ground Screws to be used not only for this reason but because this is always our preferred method of ground foundation because of the environmentally friendly properties.

The client chose larch cladding, which is the same material used on their house situated approximately 20 meters away from their new studio. The larch cladding on their home is 10 years into the organic ageing process; in a few years, the larch cladding on their bespoke garden studio will age perfectly with their home.

To maximise the natural light they opted for a roof light and chose white aluminium doors and windows which also mimics what they have on their home.
We had loads of fun with this one – creating a truly bespoke space for our client, there was a real harmonious feel to this project.
